The General Public should be aware that the Federal Government is set to commence recruitment exercise in the Federal Road Maintenance Agency come this year. This was made known by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing.
The exercise will be conducted through the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA). According to the minister, the government has a plan to begin this exercise soonest.

The Federal Minister make this announcement at a stakeholders meeting organized by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria on the state of the country’s technical colleges in Abuja on Thursday. He gave example how vocational and technical education has significantly contributed to the development of some countries like South Africa, Canada and Singapore and insisted that Nigeria must shape its educational system to suit the growth of its economy.
He further stated that government at the Federal level has mapped out plans on how to engage thousands of artisans and technicians on how to fix roads across the country.

The Federal Road Maintenance Agency is a Federal Government parastatal established by the National Assembly Act of 2002 and the FERMA act of 2007 (amended). It commenced operations in 2003 and has two operational departments which are headed by an Executive director.
