BRIEF FACT ABOUT THE NIGERIAN NAVY (NN)
The Nigerian Navy is one of the Best fleets in the African Continent having a total more than 30 warships at its disposal. The Nigerian Navy (NN) is a branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces. It is among the largest Navies on the African continent, consisting of several thousand personnel, including those of the Coast Guard.
The Nigerian Navy (NN) owes its foundation to the Nigerian Marine. Which was formed in 1914 after the Northern and Southern Protectorate were joined together. The two Marines were merged in 1914 and it responsibilities increased.
Then, In July 1959, the Nigerian Naval Force was transformed into a full-fledged Navy when Queen Elizabeth granted permission for the Force to use the title ‘Royal Nigerian Navy’. The title was however changed to the ‘Nigerian Navy’ in 1963 after the country become a republic.
According to the statement from the online registration portal, applicants are expected to apply once. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification of candidate. On submission, all applicants are to print out the completed application form which must include: declaration and certification by parents/guardians, Local government area certificate form, Police certification form and guarantor forms.
The 2017 Nigerian Navy recruitment exercise will commence with an aptitude test and screening of certificates of candidates at designated centres in various states across the country on October 7, 2017.
Basic Requirement for the 2017 Nigerian Navy Recruitments
Before you begin your application into the Nigerian Navy, you need to know about the basic requirement that is required of you, which will aid your application process into the workforce. Interested applicants must possess the following qualification and fulfill some requirements so as to be able to be eligible for the Nigerian Navy Recruitment for 2017.
- Applicants must possess 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings in O Level SSCE examinations of which mathematics and English Language are compulsory.
- Applicants must be between 18-22 years while those who possess an NCE, OND and Motor Transport Department qualification can be of the age limits of 24-26 years.
- Applicants must be single
- Applicant must be Nigerian and possess a valid state of Origin certification
- Required height of 1.7m and 1.67 for both male and female applicants.
- Possession of a first school leaving certificate
