www.readysetwork.com.ng: 2017 Ready Set Work Registration and Application
The Lagos state Government is calling on the general public and all students interested in pursuing a career in entrepreneurship to apply for the 2017 readysetwork programme billed to hold on September 24, 2017. The scheme is for final year students and the Lagos state government announced the opening of the website to register intending applicants for the 2017 edition. The programme is designed to equipped final students of tertiary institutions in the state with the right skills to add value to society.
We are thus informing all interested applicants and final year students to visit the website at www.readysetwork.com.ng from June 16, while training will run from July 1-September 16, 2017. Only 6 state institutions and 3 centres have been designated to host the training.
The six participating institutions are College of Education, Lagos state College of Health Science, Lagos State Polytechnic, Lagos State University, Michael Otedola College of Education and the University of Lagos. A total of 12,000 students will be selected for the programme, thus 2,000 final year students will be selected for the training at three designated centres, while the remaining 10,000 would be selected from students in their penultimate year at the institutions and trained thorough the online platform and also register for the RSW Academy.
About The Lagos State Government Ready Set Work Programme
The ReadySetWork programme is an initiative of the Lagos state Government. it is an employability and entrepreneurship program aimed at preparing final year students for direct entry into the workforce as employees and employers of labour by arming them with market-aligned knowledge, soft skills, business tools, and a mindset reorientation to the world of work. The program is at the instance of the Lagos State Ministry of Education in partnership with a network of stakeholders including Corporate Nigeria, Lagos State owned tertiary institutions and training partners is aimed at addressing the gaps in the skill set of graduates in the tertiary institutions.
You will recall that the project started in 2016, hosting about 500 students and graduating a total of 472 students from the programme, and place a total number of 197 of these students in internship and apprenticeship opportunities.
The Readt Set Work 2017 programme is a bold renewal of the commitment of the State Government to youth employment, engagement and empowerment through direct access to quality learning and employment expansibility.
The 2017 Edition will host 2,000 final year students drawn from six Federal and State tertiary institutions while 10,000 Year 3 students from all the six institutions will be simultaneously admitted to an online learning academy to prepare them for admission into the programme in their final year.
